Sources of Personal Information
We collect this personal information directly from you and from the following types of sources: publicly available databases, internet service providers, social media platforms, third-party data brokers and aggregators, data analytics providers, service providers, veterinarians, distributors, joint marketing partners, and affiliates.
Purposes for the Collection, Use, Disclosure, Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
The purposes for which we collect, use, disclose, sell or share personal information depends on our relationship with a specific California or Texas resident. We collect, use, disclose, sell and share personal information to:
- Operate, grow, manage and maintain our business;
- Provide products and services;
- Manage relationships with service providers; and
- Accomplish our business purposes and objectives.
More specifically, we collect, use and disclose personal information for purposes such as to: develop, improve, advertise and market our pet-health related products; provide you with tailored content, marketing, and promotional messages; enable you to manage your preferences including, without limitation, the ability to opt-out; operate, repair, provide and maintain our services; conduct surveys, research and data analysis; maintain our facilities and infrastructure, protect health and safety; operate and manage IT and communications systems; facilitate communications; conduct risk and security control and monitoring; detect and prevent fraud; perform identity verification; perform accounting, audit, and other internal functions, such as internal investigations; comply with law, legal process, and internal policies; evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets; maintain records; and exercise and defend legal claims. We also sell and/or share personal information for purposes of advertising and marketing our pet-health related products and services.
Purposes for the Collection, Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information
Subject to your consent where required by applicable law, we collect, use, and disclose sensitive personal information only for purposes permitted under the CCPA, including, without limitation, performing services for our business, providing goods or services as requested by you, ensuring the security and integrity of our business, short term transient use such as displaying first party, non-personalized advertising, order processing and fulfillment, servicing accounts, providing customer service, verifying customer information, processing transactions, and activities relating to quality and safety control or product improvement.
Notice of Financial Incentive for Petcare Rewards
We offer pet owners the opportunity to participate in our Petcare Rewards Program (the “Program”), which may provide benefits, including earning reward points for use at veterinary practices, to those who choose to join (our “members”). Those benefits are described along with other material terms and conditions here.
Our collection of members’ personal information (including name, email address, product purchase details and other personal information as described above under “Our Collection, Disclosure, Sale and Sharing of Personal Information”) allows us to operate the Program and provide membership benefits. We use the personal information of Program members to both award and redeem points. Otherwise, the types of personal information that we collect from Program members are generally similar to the types of personal information that we collect from individuals who are not Program members. The amount of personal information that we collect from a member or non-member may vary and is dependent on the level of interactions and engagement that the member or non-member has with us.
We seek to ensure that both members and non-members have a positive and beneficial experience when seeking the best products and services for their pets. For this reason, we may collect information from both members and non-members related to their personal preferences in order to provide personalized services, as described above under “Purposes for the Collection, Use, Disclosure, Sale and Sharing of Personal Information.” We “sell” and “share,” as those terms are defined under the CCPA, personal information of both Program members and non-members to third parties for the purposes of personalizing online advertising content, as described in this Disclosure.
We estimate the value of a member’s personal information to us, solely for purposes of the CCPA and pursuant to the valuation options mandated by the CCPA regulations, to be reasonably related to the value of the benefits Program members obtain through participating in the Program. We have based this good faith estimate on the value that arises from our commercial relationships, such as with veterinarians, the costs and expenses we incur in offering the Program, the types of rewards offered, and the collection, use and retention of the personal information of consumers who have voluntarily signed up and chosen to remain in the Program. The value of Program benefits to members varies significantly as individual members take advantage of Program benefits to varying degrees.
You may join the Program on our website. Members who are California residents may exercise their CCPA rights, including the rights to know, correct, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, without any effect on their membership status or eligibility to receive rewards, and Program members who exercise their privacy rights under the CCPA receive the same benefits as members who do not. A member may also choose not to receive marketing communications or offers at any time without any effect on their membership status or eligibility to receive Program benefits. You may cancel your membership in the Program at any time by notifying us at using the Contact Us form or by phone at 855‑749‑7274.
