January 22, 2019
Kristin Peck of Zoetis was honored with the 2019 Feather in Her Cap Award. The award is given to women leaders in the animal health industry for their achievements and significant contributions to the industry and for mentoring and developing future women leaders.
Kristin Peck, Executive Vice President and President, U.S. Operations, Business Development and Strategy at Zoetis, was honored with the 2019 Feather in Her Cap Award for her significant achievements and contributions to animal health, and her work in developing future women leaders in our industry.
This is the second annual award presented by the non-profit Feather in Her Cap Association, which was created to shine a light on the impressive accomplishments of talented women in the animal health industry – and encourage more women to enter and build careers in the sector. The award ceremony took place on Jan. 21st in Orlando, Fla., in conjunction with the world’s largest veterinary conference, VMX (Veterinary Meeting and Expo).
Breaking Ground for Animal Health
Presenting Kristin with a ceremonious feathered cap and gold brooch, the Association applauded her achievements as a leader in the animal health industry. She was recognized for helping prepare Zoetis to become a public company which broke new ground for the animal health industry, and for overseeing Zoetis’s U.S. business, corporate strategy and business development functions.
A Champion for Others
Kristin was also honored for her intense focus on developing colleagues, having launched leadership development programs at Zoetis that provide training, mentorships and involvement in strategic projects. She was credited with personally mentoring women at Zoetis and elsewhere within animal health.
Roxanne Lagano, Chief Human Resources Officer, said, “Kristin is an inspiring and accomplished leader who helped pave the way for the successful launch of Zoetis and attract investors to the animal health industry. She is remarkable not only for her leadership in delivering strong results, but also as a passionate advocate for her colleagues. She’s always been a true champion for women in animal health in so many ways – from recruitment and mentorships, to development programs that stimulate both personal and professional growth. We are extremely proud of Kristin and all that she brings to Zoetis, our customers and our colleagues!”
In accepting the award, Kristin said, “It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by my peers in our industry, and I am grateful to all those leaders who encouraged me to embrace my true self and follow my passion for animal health. I remain committed to being a champion for the next generation of leaders in this space.”
Kristin was one of two recipients of the Feather in Her Cap. Jenny Trudeau, previously the Director of Large Animal and Equine National Accounts at Boehringer Ingelheim, was posthumously recognized for her lifetime achievements. The 2019 awardees were selected from a diverse group of candidates across five different companies. This is the second year in a row Zoetis has received the Feather in Her Cap Award, with Cathy Knupp being honored in 2018.
